Course DescriptionEverSafe Driving ProgramThis course is for organizations that depend on good employee drivers to compete in today's busy workforce. All organizations have employees who drive to and from work in a privately owned vehicle, or during their work shift in a privately owned or company vehicle. Virtually all employees will benefit by participating in this safe driving training program. A training advisory committee of government and industry driving experts participated in the design and preparation of this program. The result is a training session that can be delivered in a variety of time frames, emphasizing the topics that are important to each particular group of drivers. The program is designed with flexibility in mind, and can be adjusted to fit a brief one hour safety presentation, or a full eight hour long training session. Topics can be emphasized based on the specific needs and unique crash experiences of the participating organization. The EverSafe Driving Program was updated in January 2009. The new edition of the program covers the following topics: Motor Vehicle Crash StatisticsThe first section of the program presents general statistics and looks at the causes and costs to society and individuals when a motor vehicle crash occurs. Getting Prepared: The Driver, The Vehicle and The Driving EnvironmentThe second section of the program discusses how off-the-job activities can affect on-the-job driving. Defensive Driving TechniquesThe third section of the program is devoted to discussing defensive driving and the techniques that drivers can use to defend themselves against other drivers. The Organization and SupervisorThe fourth section of the program stresses the effects that company policy and a supervisor’s words and actions can have on a driver’s behavior. Incident AnalysisThe final section of the program encourages organizations to inform employees about what to do at a crash scene or following a near miss. |
