Course Description

Becoming a Certified P/EVO Instructor

Evergreen Safety Council has developed a two-day Instructor Certification course, which has been approved by the Washington Sate Traffic Control Oversight Committee (TCOC). The TCOC must approve all training providers for Pilot/Escort Vehicle Operators. Upon successful completion of this two-day session, which includes passing an open book test with a score of 80% or better, the instructor will be qualified to train Pilot/Escort Vehicle Operators (P/EVO) and issue the state certification card.

Instructor candidates will receive a specially designed kit of training materials. They will be guided through the materials and shown how to train Pilot/Escort Vehicle Operators to the standards set by the TCOC.

Instructors will be certified for three years and then take a one-day (6-8-hrs) refresher course triennially.

If you are unsure of your qualifications for taking this two-day instructor course you are welcome to submit a statement detailing your work and training experience for evaluation. Your materials will be reviewed and a response will be given concerning approval as a candidate for taking this course.

Currently Evergreen Safety Council is the only approved provider to issue the state card for Pilot/Escort Vehicle Operator and Instructor training. If you have further questions please don’t hesitate to call.
