FAQ: EverSafe Driving Instructor CertificationAre there any prerequisites to take the instructor course?You do need to have a valid driver's license and be comfortable standing in front of a group teaching. How long is the instructor course?The program is 2 days. What is the cost?$415 for members and $465 for non-members. Continental breakfasts and lunches are also included in the fee. What are the class hours?Sign in begins at 7:30am and the class runs from 8am to 5pm. What do I get in the class?All necessary training materials including an Instructors Manual, Video, Overheads or CD, Teaching Techniques Handbook and a Participant Guide, in an embossed carrying case plus a 3-year Instructor Certification. What else do I have to buy?For every student you train, they will need a participants guide. Each guide comes with a completion card. Participant guides start at $4.35 and go down in price based on quantity ordered and whether you are a member or non-member. What do we send in after we've taught a class?A roster for each class taught needs to be sent to Evergreen Safety Council within 5 days of the course. How long is the Instructor certification good for?The certification is good for 3 years. How do I maintain my certification?You need to teach at least 2 classes each year to stay current. There is a $55 certification renewal fee once every 3 years. Periodic updates will also be scheduled. How do I register for an instructor class?We can mail or fax a registration form, which needs to be filled out completely and returned to us with payment. The registration form is also available to download. What if I need a replacement card? Damaged / voided cards can be replaced at no charge if they are returned to us. Is the program pre-approved for insurance companies / courts / senior citizens?Not at this time. If you provide the name and contact information of the insurance company we can send our material for review and approval. What makes your program better?Our program is designed for companies to train their drivers more specifically to their vehicle and driving situations. The program can be delivered in a 2hr, 4hr, 6hr, or 8hr format. The training assumes you are a good driver and want to improve your skills. The presentation is positive, interesting, and encourages student participation while giving the instructor flexibility to best meet audience needs. |
