FAQ: Flagger Training

Can I use my card in other states?

The card is accepted in the states of Idaho, Oregon and Montana on Department of Transportation projects.  It is up to private companies whether they accept the card or not.

Where do I get Flagger Training?

Evergreen Safety Council (ESC) offers Traffic Control Flagger classes at our Safety Training Center in Seattle approximately once a month.

Contact the local community college in your area.  The classes are usually held in the Continuing Education Department.

How much is a class?

ESC classes are $65/member and $85/non-member. The cost of the classes can vary from school to school so you must contact them.

Where can I get a job?

We do not provide a list of people hiring flaggers.  Suggestions would be to contact your local Utility Districts, Unemployment Offices, Department of Transportation Job Line and/or local Contractors in the area.

Do I have to have a picture on my card?

No.  The cards are designed to be valid with photo ID.  As long as the individual carries a Washington State ID card or Drivers License they are valid.
