ESC / NFIB Safety CD Program

This National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) Safety Program is the result of an alliance between the Evergreen Safety Council, National Federation of Independent Businesses and Washington Labor & Industries Department of Occupational Safety & Health.

Under current state law, all employers in Washington State must have an accident prevention plan, and all businesses are subject to enforcement audits from the State Department of Labor and Industries (L & I). Many businesses are unsure they are doing everything that is required by law. This uncertainty can sometimes lead to accidents or steep, unexpected fines and penalties levied by L & I.

This comprehensive safety program is designed to fight accidents before they happen. To begin the Safety Program, an NFIB member purchases a Safety CD from Evergreen Safety Council. This Safety CD acts as a blueprint for identifying workplace hazards, creating an employee-written safety manual and initiating an employee accident prevention plan, all per the Washington Division of Safety and Health (DOSH).

The purchase price of the Safety CD also provides access to the following services:

• Limited remote consulting via e-mail, fax or telephone
• On-site consulting at a reduced fee
• Training classes at reduced fees
