Does my team really need forklift training?
If they ever use a forklift, the answer is yes.
This is also true for other types of Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs), such as pickers or motorized pallet jacks.
OSHA standards require all employees who operate PITs to be trained and certified by a knowledgeable person at their place of employment, on the forklift (or other type of PIT) that they will be using. Operators should be retrained every three years, and should get extra guidance and oversight if there is an incident, such as a crash or injury.
With the right prep, employers can train their own teams, and we’re here to help.
What does it take to train forklift operators?
